Dr. Donald Goodwin

Dr. Donald Goodwin received his MD degree from the University of Miami School of Medicine. He then completed a rotating internship and diagnostic radiology residency at Walter Reed Army Medical Center, achieving American Board of Radiology Certification in 1977. Following completion of residency, he then was assigned to Walter Reed to serve on the teaching staff for the residency program with responsibility for Thoracic, Neuroradiology and Interventional sections at various times during his tenure. Following discharge from the Army, he entered the private practice of radiology at Good Samaritan Hospital in 1979.

Dr. Goodwin introduced numerous new interventional procedures to the practice at Good Samaritan, including percutaneous angioplasty, drainage and stent procedures, and aspiration and core biopsy. He supervised the implementation of ultrasound and MRI programs at Good Sam, and developed the diagnostic and interventional radiology services at the Breast Center at Good Samaritan. Administratively, Dr. Goodwin served as Medical Director of Radiology since 1987, and served as Chief of the Medical Staff of Good Samaritan from 1989-1997, and of the combined Good Samaritan-St. Mary’s Medical Staffs from 1997-1999.
